From DC Darling to Lady Lucaze ...
Born and raised in Alexandria, VA, most people thought I was going to follow in the footsteps of all the other Bryant women: strong, independent, educated, opinionated, Greek, OES, and generally revered by elite DC society ... Surprise!!
After I graduated from High School with an advanced diploma, I tried my hand at the DC Darling lifestyle and attended Georgetown University for a year in the Biology Department but found that my family's connections at other Universities such as Hampton, Morehouse and Meharry were getting in the way of prfessors paying attention to the quality of my work. I could have stayed and skated through ... and in retrospect, probably should have ... but that would have been a huge disservice to myself.
No, instead I shed my DC Darling image and fed to the Music City itself, Nashville, TN to attend a notorious HBCU ... Tennessee State University. The reputation wasn't as prestigious and some of my classmates probably very undeserving, but there I found myself ... Lady Lucaze! I stuck with biology only because it was my comfort zone, but in an elective during my junior year, African-American Philosophy with Dr. Hardy, I realized that there was a rathr opinionated Diva lurking beneath the surface and just waiting to come out.
So here I am, from DC Darling to Lady Lucaze, and loving every minute of it!
I like your banner, she did a good job.
I see you changed your changed your banner and avatar as well. It’s very nice. I remember reading one of your posts not too long ago where you saif your husband didn’t know what it was. Lol.
I think the new banner is lovely. It’s simple and elegant! It works well with the style of your jewelry too.
P.S. I’ve been working on a light box too. Where were you able to find the clip lamp? Every lamp I have found seems to big or bulky.
